Every great journey begins long before the first step - and ours began in the wild. WBB was not created; it was lived into being - through decades of exploration, courage, and kinship with the wild.

Four journeys. Each one designed to move you - across landscapes, through cultures, and beyond who you thought you were.

Self Drive Kenya
Navigate Kenya's most iconic landscapes - the Maasai Mara's golden grasslands, Amboseli's elephant herds beneath Kilimanjaro, and dramatic Rift Valley vistas. Lions at dawn, sundowners on escarpment edges, and the freedom to explore at your own pace with expert guides leading the way.

Kenya & Tanzania
The ultimate East African experience. From the Maasai Mara through the Serengeti's endless plains to Ngorongoro Crater's wildlife amphitheater. Witness the Great Migration, track the Big Five, and discover why this circuit remains unmatched for those seeking Africa's full wild spectrum.

Call of the Canopy - Uganda
Trek through misty rainforest to sit face-to-face with mountain gorillas—one of Earth's most profound wildlife encounters. Track chimpanzees, witness tree-climbing lions, and cruise the Kazinga Channel. Uganda is Africa's lush, primal secret, and it changes everyone who enters.

Uncharted Botswana
Africa at its most raw. Navigate the Okavango Delta's waterways, witness Chobe's massive elephant herds, and camp under star-thick skies in the Makgadikgadi Pans. No fences, no crowds, no compromise - just wilderness on its own terms.
Why WBB Expeditions Are Different
Wander Beyond Boundaries was born as a quiet promise between a young girl and the wild. Growing up in the forests of India, Nidhi learned to read the land - tracks like sentences, shadows like secrets. The wilderness shaped her long before she knew it. From teenage trekking guide to 4×4 pioneer, her path kept expanding. In 2015, she became the first woman to drive overland from Delhi to London. Soon after, she stood alone at Siberia's Pole of Cold, becoming the only Indian to reach that frozen realm solo in peak winter.
You're behind the wheel of your own 4×4, navigating wild terrain with complete autonomy. But you're never alone—our expert guides lead the convoy, sharing wildlife knowledge, bush wisdom, and ensuring every moment is both safe and extraordinary. It's the perfect balance: the thrill of self-drive adventure with the insight of Africa's best guides.
Founded by Nidhi Salgame - the first woman to drive Delhi to London and first Indian to reach Siberia's Pole of Cold solo - and partnered with Issa Douglas, one of Kenya's most respected gold-rated safari guides. Three decades of extreme terrain expertise meets ancestral bush knowledge. You're not just touring; you're exploring with people who've made pushing boundaries a way of life.
We don't follow the tourist circuit. Our routes are meticulously scouted, blending iconic wildlife encounters with hidden corners few ever see - private conservancies, remote waterholes, cultural exchanges with local communities. Every journey is designed not just to show you Africa, but to change how you see yourself within it.
A flawless safety record across 30+ international expeditions. Every journey includes Wilderness Emergency Medical Technicians (WEMT), comprehensive vehicle support, technical backup, and extensive local networks. We plan for every contingency - from field recovery to medical emergencies - so you can explore with complete confidence. Because true adventure isn't about taking risks; it's about managing them expertly.
In their words
From our decade of extreme overlanding expeditions across the Himalayas, Central Asia, and beyond - the same spirit now guides our African safaris.
After a really difficult section, very steep incline, the sheer joy that all of us had made it. Everyone had an elevated heart rate for sure. So flushed with adrenalin we were. I will always look back to this day whenever I am in doubt about what I am capable of."
I have done two overland drives with WBB and each time, it has been extraordinary. Something new and refreshing. Also the way it's managed and led makes everyone feel welcome.
It's extreme overlanding for a reason. This pushes you to the edge. That was the beauty of this trip. You begin to realize how fascinating these vehicles are & bond with them in ways unimaginable!
I had never done anything like this in my life. Such a beautiful route! My driving has improved a lot. I am very glad that I decided to participate. I won't miss such an opportunity ever. Thank you WBB!
I have really pushed my boundaries in every sense. I always wanted to drive on such terrain, but had never done it. This has been a huge learning experience. I am so much more confident. Driving in the city will never be the same now!
Here are some frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your journey begins
Do I need 4×4 driving experience?
Not at all. While prior off-road experience is helpful, it's not required. Our expert guides provide comprehensive vehicle briefings and driving support throughout the journey. We move at a pace that accommodates all skill levels, and you'll be amazed at how quickly you build confidence behind the wheel.
What's the group size?
We keep groups small and intimate—typically 4-8 vehicles (8-16 people maximum). This ensures personalized attention, flexibility, and minimal environmental impact while maintaining the camaraderie that makes these journeys special.
What fitness level do I need?
Most of our safaris require moderate fitness - you should be comfortable with light walking and getting in/out of 4×4 vehicles regularly. For Uganda's gorilla trekking, expect 2-6 hours of hiking through rainforest terrain, which requires good physical condition. We'll provide detailed fitness requirements for your specific itinerary.
Can solo travelers join?
Absolutely! Many of our explorers travel solo. We can arrange single accommodations (with a supplement) or pair you with another solo traveler to share vehicle and room costs.
What's included in the safari cost?
our safari includes: 4×4 vehicle rental with fuel, experienced guide convoy, all accommodations (lodges/camps), most meals, park entrance fees, activities listed in the itinerary, comprehensive vehicle support, and emergency medical coverage. International flights, visa fees, personal insurance, and some additional meals are typically not included.
